Gentle Exercise

First Steps to Fitness is a gentle way into exercising and socialising, led by Polly from Be Bolder and supported by St John’s Centre’s volunteers.

It includes 45 minutes of chair-based exercise to get you moving, followed by a chat over a cup of tea and a piece of home-made cake.

Sessions are free and open to anyone over 50.

You can exercise standing or seated, or a bit of both, and work at your own pace. If you are not able to exercise without help, we ask that you bring a friend or carer to support you through the session.

If you’d like to find out what it’s all about, come along to our free Taster Session on Thursday, August 29th 2024 from 2.30-4pm. You don’t need to book – just turn up.

Regular weekly sessions will start again on September 19th. From then, sessions will be

Every Thursday 2.30-4pm

There is no need to book, but you can contact the Centre if you have any questions.

First Steps to Fitness is supported by an Awards for All grant from the National Lottery Community Fund.
