About Footlights

Our office is based at Footlights House, MediaCity, 6 days per week so we are a full time educational performing arts establishment. We began in 2005 and still maintain a personal yet professional approach in our teaching style.

Footlights teach children, young people, and adults transferable performance skills in acting, singing and dance through our stage school and extra classes, we find the discipline they learn with us transfers to their everyday life.

We also encourage them in stage production, stage management and most of all working as a team. The art of performance can be fundamental for a growing child, to assist them with the ability to communicate effectively, have confidence in themselves and support them in their personal development.

Many of our students have progressed onto performing arts courses, drama schools, major tours and we even have one ex-student we know of at Cambridge!

Our professional work, linked to the industry, includes all aspects of theatre, television, and radio.

Our previous credits include but are not exclusive to All Creatures Great & Small (Ch5), The Book Thief (Bolton Octagon), Matilda the Musical (West End and UK tour), Les Misérables at the Lowry, Disney’s Cruella, CBBC’s Almost Never and other ground-breaking BBC children’s drama series. Our students have also featured in various commercials including United Utilities and Alton Towers (both 2022-23). We also have a 100% pass rate for the students who choose to sit their LAMDA exams with us (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts).
