St John’s Centre, Old Trafford

The following rooms are available to hire at St. John’s Centre:

• Main hall (with adjacent kitchen) – holding approx. 200 people.
• Downstairs meeting room – holding approx. 15 people.
• Computer suite – with 8 workstations available.
• Upstairs meeting room – holding approx. 25 people. The room has a self contained area for brewing up. Access is by stairs only.

We now have a Licence for Regulated Entertainment (No. PLN0138) from Trafford Council. This means that we can have functions with amplified music and/or dancing at the Centre during the times set out below.

Hirings to Groups/Organisations

The centre is open Monday – Friday from 10am to 3pm, offering adult education courses, but is staffed from 9am to 5pm. During weekdays there are some rooms available to hire for training or meeting purposes.

During the evenings Monday –Thursday the centre is often hired by community groups and sports clubs. The space is normally used between 6pm and 9pm, but bookings can be made for earlier times.

On Friday nights and at weekends, the Centre can be used for other events, such as plays/concerts, sports events, fundraisers and community celebrations.

Our payment scale for room hire to groups and organisations takes into account not-for-profit organisations and commercial ventures.

Private Hirings

On Friday nights and weekends private hirings are made for parties, Christenings, wedding receptions, etc. Because we are in a residential area, events have to finish by 10pm - except on the first Saturday of each month, when they can continue until 11.30pm.

The cost of hiring the main hall (including use of the kitchen, PA, and tables and chairs) for private events is £35 per hour, plus a returnable deposit.
