Christmas Tree Recycling Fundraiser – Update

Our Business Development Worker Alex and her team of volunteers spent the last two weekends doing socially distanced Christmas tree recycling to raise funds for the Centre’s work – helped by the loan of a van from Tuf*C. They raised an amazing £995!

Gail Heath (CEO of The Pankhurst Trust (Incorporating Manchester Women’s Aid)) was one of the volunteers. She says:

I got a real buzz from being out and about collecting Christmas Trees, it made me feel more connected with our neighbourhoods at the same time as topping up my depleted energy reserves. See you next year for what I hope will be an annual event!

Of course, they went above and beyond the call of duty…

A handwritten note saying: We wanted to keep the base but couldn't pull it out, if you can please can we have it back?

… and the trees’ owners were delighted with the service too:

‘I think the collections are a great idea – many thanks and happy new year!’

You guys ROCK! I am so very grateful.

Thanks to all the volunteers and everyone who donated!
