Volunteering

The Centre is very lucky have some excellent volunteers who give their time to support its activities.

We have been able to provide volunteering opportunities to people in the following areas:

  • Teaching and learner support, including ESOL, Gardening, Sewing and Computing
  • Cooking for events and in our regular St John’s Chefs group; and
  • Children and Young People’s activities, including holiday activities.
  • Supporting the Community Response Hub, answering calls and enquiries.

We have also been involved with local schools, enabling young people to undertake their work experience. In addition, we have worked with student placements who need teaching hours as part of their courses. Our Board of Directors is made up of volunteers who give of their time cheerfully and freely.

We currently have the following volunteers roles available:

Childcare Volunteer (Wednesday Mornings during term time)

Community Hub Volunteer (2-4hrs per week, weekdays 10am-2pm)

ESOL Volunteer (Monday afternoon, Wednesday morning, or Friday morning, term time only)

We are happy to talk to you if you are interested in volunteering here. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Claire Trivino (Mon/Tue) at claire@stjohnscentre.org or on 0161 872 7795.
